The Gathering 2010

Once again the flagship event of the year will be our Annual Gathering. A group of Directors are pulling the programme together taking the comments from last year into account - so lots of time for networking, good food and stimulating presentations are all being fitted into the programme.

We will be back at the Winnock Hotel in Drymen on Saturday 6th November. Mindful of the budgets we shall be inviting all our member community organisations as a priority.

This is likely to mean that places will be at a premium. Why don't you apply for membership to ensure an invitation and a place. You can download a members form via our Membership section of this website.

Make sure you book early when the information comes out from our support officer Christine Nelson.

Next Local Area Network Meetings

Local Area Networks

Local Area Networks were introduced at the same time as the Community Partnership in 2003.  Each area network has developed its own way of working to suit its individual needs, whilst still ensuring it provides a forum for enabling networking, sharing information and spawning new projects across communities in and around the National Park.

All Community organisations are welcome at any of our Area Network Meetings.

Over the years Networks have focussed on a series of issues including, affordable housing, transport, climate change and renewable energy, wild camping, heritage, community training needs and many of these events have led to area and park wide projects such as the Apprenticeship Scheme.

In the Trossachs

The area network is closely linked with the Stirling Council Community Planning framework and currently the Trossachs area meetings are run by the Trossachs Area Network Steering Group (TAN) which includes Community Partnership Directors from the Trossachs area.

In the Breadalbane Area

A small group of the Chairs of Community Councils meet on a regular basis to ensure cohesiveness of activities in the area.

In the Loch Lomond Area Network

The network has very much been focussed on heritage with its meetings taking place within the LLTNPA Headquarters or Maid of the Loch.

The next meeting is planned to take place on

18th August 2010 - Loch Lomond Area Network, LLTNPA Headquarters, Balloch

19:00 - 21:00 - Speaker Alex MacGregor (presentation on World Heritage Sites)

All welcome.

In Argyll & Cowal

The communities are very spread out so the area network in this area has proved particularly valuable for bringing communities together.  This network has been very creative in the ways they have networked.  One example being a meeting on the move by way of a bus stopping at project points throughout the area.

The Community Partnership is committed to working with and supporting current locally established networking activities and will always ensure that its networking events and activities enhance and compliment rather than duplicate what’s available via other organisations.

Dates for our next round of Local area network meetings are:

  • 18th August 2010 - Loch Lomond Area Network, LLTNPA Headquarters, Balloch19:00 - 21:00 - Speaker Alex MacGregor (presentation on World Heritage Sites)
